I'm thrilled that you got matched with me, whoever you are. I'm the weird person sitting over here in the musicals/theatre portion of fandom with the obscure canons that very few people know/read so I'm excited to go on this exciting journey with you. (And Ghosts. Since apparently this quirky little TV show has wormed its way into my heart. Might be because of all the Hamilton references...)
Hopefully the likes and ideas will give you something to work with but, honestly, please go wild with this! If you have a better idea then definitely run with it. I just ask that you please respect my DNWs. And, of course, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to either drop a line here anonymously (I left anon commenting on for that reason) or please have the mods poke me!
Ahem, if this letter seems similar... it's because I'm pretty set in my likes/dislikes/fandoms. Usually one or two fandoms change each year but you can always go back through and see what I've liked in prior years! (Spoiler, it's 99% the same, the prompts just change, oops? I guess I really am set in my ways here at Yuletide!)
I REALLY don't want this to be restrictive no matter how long this thing is. I'm verbose. My fics are all 5-10k. I like to write. So... yeah, enjoy the long letter and I hope it helps OR gives you a great jumping off place!

This is the fun part - I'm pretty open on my likes. My favorite things tend to be slice of life or moments in a relationship we don't get to see in canon. Missing scenes, stolen moments, romance, etc. You can even show me a scene that exists in canon but give it to me from a different character's POV. Under normal circumstances, I'd say go wild on the angst — I'm still dealing with my dad's death in 2021 and I'm just not up for ANGST. Doesn't have to be saccharine sweet and gives you a cavity, but no death or sadness. I've cried enough this year as it is.
PS, I do love smuttier stories so don't feel like you have to close the door on my account! But, that said, the story doesn't have to have smut either for me to love it!
PPS, If you give me stories set before a particular canon OR after one or give me some sort of a missing moment that explains an aspect of the canon you will have my undying love forever.
Dislikes
I have very little limits, to be honest if you're going into smut... I'm not here for heavy BDSM, non-sexual bodily fluids (scat, blood, etc), A/B/O, S&M, non-con, mpeg, rape, abuse, etc. Given the tone of most of the canons listed, there's going to be internalized homophobia, angst, and some manipulation. That being said, please don't let it come across like the relationships are unhealthy, non-consensual. If you have a question on where the line is drawn, the fics I've written on AO3 will probably give a good guidance on this! <3
As much as possible, I'd like to avoid SUPREME ANGST (I know, this coming from the queen of angst here) I really want to avoid character deaths (even those in canon). I don't mind drama / arguments (aka, it doesn't have to be PURE fluff) — but I'd like to avoid a fic that's nothing but gut punches and ends with everything resolved on a happy note.
While I love AUs — please kindly skip high school/college set or coffee shop AUs.

I actually just did a full re-watch of this show, and loved it even more this time around <3 This show is such my guilty pleasure you have no idea. I'm still, forever, mad we didn't get a 3rd season... nor did they ever ACTUALLY mount a Bombshell show on broadway. (Sigh, but let's make the actual broadway show a rehash of S1 suuuuuure. Just give us Bombshell, damnit!) — If you haven't seen the show, the whole thing is available on the NBC app! And, really, if you're a theatre person who hasn't seen this yet — do yourself a favor and watch.

Just give me some wonderful Tom Levitt and I shall be happy. Really, I don't care. The many loves of Tom. Tom realizing he's queer. Tom on his journey to become the amazing composer he is. Tom's first time directing something he didn't write. Early on in his career with Julia and how they came to be such amazing partners. The first time Derek & Tom worked on a show and the utter epic failure it became. (WHY do they hate each other so much...)
Shipping wise... Legit I'm really here for Derek/Tom hate-sex relationships. So that's the main want, so if you want to include Ivy & Julia — feel free. If not, no worries. I also specifically didn't pick Kyle. Past-Tom/Kyle is fine, just not present day please!
Give me whatever your heart desires, just so long as Tom is our central character. <3
Falsettos - Lapine/Finn
I've written a lot of fic in this fandom (even if I've taken a bit of a writing hiatus). It's such a gorgeous show, completely sung-through, and a series of vignettes about some truly horrible people learning how to find their way through life when being openly gay wasn't at all accepted. Plus.. musical set in the 80s so, sadly we must Bury Our Gays (TM). It exists on certain sites (There's a ProShot available if you didn't see it) so I'll let you look up your own 'slime tutorial'.

Face it, that's what we're all here for. I'm all about seeing how they originally got together (including Marvin's infidelity) and how their relationship fell apart by the end of Act 1. I'd REALLY love to see how both of them dealt with those missing years when they were apart ("only one my child would allow" — lean into that line. What were his other relationships like. Did they ever see each other? Did they avoid each other? ) And then how did Whizzer wind up at the Baseball game in Act 2? What changed, etc? I love things like get-together fics too, why did Marvin of all people catch Whizzer's eye. Did Whizzer ever feel guilty that he used Marvin for sex and stability but still fucked around? I just ask that you end whatever fic pre-death. (Yes, I'm the one who literally wrote Marvin's death at Christmas a few years ago. Please... don't go there. >.>)
Also! I'm an absolute slut for Falsettos AUs so, please, go have fun (so long as it's not school set or a coffee shop). Anything from Baseball Player!Whizzer, to ModernAUs, etc. Unless it's set pre-diagnosis, please don't retcon Whizzer's HIV status. People can live long lives with the virus.
